Haminations is a Storytime Animator on YouTube, with the tagline “22 year old college drop out who tells silly little story’s about his silly little life on his silly little YouTube channel.Hi!” Real name Bryson, his channel has been active since he was six years old and focuses on stories from his life, often featuring his family members.
Our family was in a bit of a Haminations binge when I came upon his Kickstarter for the animated board game Hoard the Hams, a project created by Bryson and his brothers, who often appear on Bryson’s channel. Since I like to review merchandise from YouTubers and the channels itself, I signed up to get the game.
What Does the Game Look Like?
Kickstarter backers got a fun update to apologize for a shipping delay, and the reason for the delay is pretty funny. They didn’t realize that China really does take three weeks off during the Lunar New Year, and materials couldn’t ship in time. Still, we received some nice product photos.
The back of the game explains the premise:
HOARD the most hams, STEAL from others, and PROTECT what you’ve got by laying traps for would-be thieves in this laughter-filled, frenzy of a gamebased on the Haminations Universe!

But Does Hoard the Hams Stack Up?
UPDATE 30 August 2025:
We love this game! It takes a couple of rounds to understand how all the cards work or clash with each other, then the game is easy to pick up at any time. There’s enough strategy that you can watch your child develop their own style of playing, and I wouldn’t blame you for making some Ham House Rules.
I’m in in way affiliated with this product and I purchased my own set of cards. Here’s where you can buy your own set.
We’ll see come May when my order is shipped. I do find it interesting that it looks like there’s an option for both ages 3-6 and 6+. Stay tuned to see how our family enjoys playing Hoard the Hams together!
