Happy birthday Shakespeare! & Introducing “The Taming of the Screens”

Today is Shakespeare‘s birth (and death?) day, so let’s celebrate with media literacy! The Taming of the Screens is an interactive workshop flexible for ages 4 + up, premiering this May at the Orlando Kids Fringe.

I have worked in education for over twenty years, and arts education for fifteen. I’ve been honored to workshop parts of Taming of the Screens at the invitation of schools worldwide. Creating this piece of work that combines hearing Shakespeare’s words out loud, spoken by children, and give them the keys to decode both this language and fundamentals of online safety/media literacy–it’s been one of my more challenging and fulfilling work to date.

I hope you’ll join us at the free show this May! If you aren’t in Orlando, join the Patreon to see sneak peeks before Kids Fringe and help us workshop a virtual production.

Kids team up with Shakespeare’s clowns and sprites on a quest, where they see the power of curiosity and context clues to stay safe online!
