Ever been in a sandstorm? YouTube Science & Climate Channels

MARCH 7, 2026 — I can always tell when Beijing has a sandstorm, because Jingkids International replays the very first short video I made for them. That’s when WeChat premiered video on their platform so our editorial team wanted to experiment, and I couldn’t get to work that day (see: sandstorm) so voila! How to talk to kids about sandstorms:

Talk to kids about sandstorms was originally published at Jingkids Intl. Shortly after this video, we added Mandarin and English subtitles to the videos.

Bonus: you get to see outside where I lived, right in the Central Business District of Beijing. Not coincidentally, an air filter was mandatory in our apartment building.

What are good videos to teach kids about our climate and weather?
