Vanilbean: For a Murder Mystery 2 Champ, She’s Still Sweet

FEBRUARY 27, 2026 — Parents will often message me to ask if a YouTuber is okay for their kids to watch. I can’t endorse anyone giving Roblox your money or time. Regardless, if your child is watching Roblox YouTubers, then vanilbean isn’t a bad choice.

Vanilbean is creative, self-aware, and shares creative game time with her Mom. She’s always collaborating with other YouTubers or shouting out people with fewer subscribers. (This also means that your child will be shown the other gamers she collabs with in her recommendations. Reply with a YouTuber I should review or email editor@outthinkmedia.com.)

Yellow flags for the YouTuber vanilbean

  1. Sometimes she posts older material and some of the language isn’t as family-friendly , but it’s not much. That can lead into an interesting dialogue on how personas change as YouTubers grow their audience.
  2. I did see Pepe the Frog pop up a few times in her play-throughs. This could be someone wearing a Pepe skin or added by the developer, and I am inclined to believe it’s the skin. That means it’s a player and she has no control over it. But it could be good to explain the history of Pepe so she understands why they might not be the best players to interact with, or why they might be pranking.
  3. She has a lot of copycat content creators, so keep an eye out for mimic channels, who don’t always have her audience’s best interests in mind. Keep an eye on your child’s recommendations and make sure they are only watching Vanilbean official videos.

What is the Roblox game MM2 and can my kid play it?

The Roblox Game MM2 (Murder Mystery 2) looks like it has the gameplay of Among Us, where one player is the murderer, one is the sheriff, and the rest are innocent. The graphics are bloodier than Among Us, so I think that game’s appropriateness might depend on how your child handles Roblox-style violence.

Her play-throughs with her friends are pretty light-hearted, with jokes about being killed because of the game. But even when there’s clearly a new player, she and her friends don’t punch down and are supportive when she plays better.

Should you be on Roblox?

… is an entirely different question. Read about it here.
