Inundated by Black Friday or Cyber Monday posts? My friends have all taken the birthday party pledge; that is, we can feel free to buy each other’s kids a gift, handmake a gift, focus on experiences rather than things, regift used items, or simply not bring a gift whatsoever. This has resulted in fun outings to see plays together, roller skating together, and sharing that cool book we loved for a while but our children have since outgrown.
We know the most important part of gift giving is that it’s personal and meaningful. So for gamer kids, what are the best gifts? Here’s our guide!
Robux
We’ll start with the basics. Give the Roblox kids in your life the in-game currency they want. Be warned, however, that once you begin down the Robux currency road, there’s not going back. Seriously. You can’t even cash out the Robux until it’s in the hundreds of dollars. Read more about how to evaluate a Roblox game here. As with most gift cards, you can get them at any grocery store or Target.
Vbucks
Whether your Fortnite players want the latest skin or battle pack, they need Vbucks. Any dollar amount for Vbucks works, but if you’re the guardian of this gamer, you probably need to set a limit for how much they can spend in any given month….

Nintendo Amiibos
These are cute figurines of their favorite characters that offer special powers or add that character into a game when placed on the gaming console. Decorative and value added! See more about Amiibos here, but be warned, you should check which ones they have first.

Homemade Trading Cards
We love Pokemon cards, but they get expensive. An awesome event at our local library introduced us to the idea of making our own trading cards! All you need are index cards, printouts of your favorite characters, and a little glue plus imagination! Worried that your friends’ kids won’t appreciate a homemade gift? Read the reaction from my youngest’s best friend when he opened a set of homemade Mario trading cards:
Witnessing L’s heartfelt excitement as he opened the handmade trading cards left a lasting impression on [my brother’s girlfriend]. In a world filled with digital and store-bought gifts, L’s genuine appreciation for the personalized present stood out, making it a heartwarming and memorable occasion.”

Steam or XBox Gift Cards
If you aren’t sure what kind of games they’re into now, or you want to make sure it gets used and not lost, just go wide and get an overall platform gift card. Check which platform they’d prefer though!
Gamer Merch
We have a whole series on YouTuber merch, and there’s no lack of cool gamer merchandise either. If they like Sypher PK or the PWR team, some of my favorite Fortnite YouTubers, you’re in luck! Sypher PK’s store is Metal Umbrella, PWR’s merch is at PWR Supply.
Five Nights at Freddie’s Books
Should your gamer kiddos love the horror animatronics in Five Nights at Freddie’s, there’s a whole series of books that may or may not be canon. If you’ve never dipped a toe into Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, however, you might want to start here.
